License Agreement
Effective Date: July 5, 2026
This License Agreement governs your use of the digital product purchased from Designer Canvas. It works alongside the Designer Canvas Terms & Conditions, which govern general site use, orders, and payments. Where the two documents address the same subject, this License Agreement controls for matters relating to product use.
1. Definitions
“Licensed Materials” means the digital files, CAD blocks, and annotation sets included in the digital product purchased from Designer Canvas.
“Licensed Entity” means the individual or business entity that purchased the license.
“Authorized User” means any employee, contractor, or freelancer engaged directly by the Licensed Entity to produce drawings or design deliverables for the Licensed Entity’s own projects, for the duration of that engagement, regardless of the Authorized User’s physical location.
An Authorized User’s right to use the Licensed Materials exists only through, and for the duration of, their active engagement with the Licensed Entity. It does not transfer to any other client, project, or business relationship the Authorized User may have, including their own independent practice.
2. Grant of License
The digital product purchased from Designer Canvas is licensed as a Studio/Team License.
Designer Canvas grants the Licensed Entity a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license permitting use of the Licensed Materials by an unlimited number of Authorized Users working on projects belonging to the Licensed Entity.
This License grants the right to use the Licensed Materials only. Ownership of the Licensed Materials remains with Designer Canvas.
3. Permitted Uses
Authorized Users may:
- Use, modify, and incorporate the Licensed Materials into drawings, plans, and design deliverables solely for the Licensed Entity’s own projects.
- Customize or adapt block content to suit the requirements of individual projects.
- Deliver finished drawings, plans, PDFs, and other project documentation containing the Licensed Materials to the Licensed Entity’s clients as part of normal project deliverables.
4. Prohibited Uses
Neither the Licensed Entity nor any Authorized User may:
- Share, distribute, sublicense, sell, lease, or otherwise provide the raw Licensed Materials to anyone who is not an Authorized User as defined in this Agreement.
- Continue using the Licensed Materials on projects unrelated to the Licensed Entity after an Authorized User’s engagement with the Licensed Entity has ended.
- Resell, redistribute, or repackage the Licensed Materials, in whole or in part, as a standalone product, template, block library, or downloadable resource.
- Use the Licensed Materials to create or assist in creating a competing CAD block library, template system, or similar commercial product.
- Claim ownership or authorship of the underlying Licensed Materials.
5. Ownership
Designer Canvas retains all copyright, intellectual property rights, and ownership of the Licensed Materials.
Purchasing this License grants only the rights expressly described in this Agreement. No ownership or copyright is transferred.
6. Product Updates
Designer Canvas may update, improve, modify, or discontinue products at any time.
Unless specifically stated at the time of purchase, this License includes access only to the version of the Licensed Materials available when purchased and does not guarantee future updates, additions, or new versions.
7. File Storage and Backup
The Licensed Entity is responsible for maintaining backup copies of downloaded files.
While Designer Canvas may make replacement downloads available where practical, continued access to previously purchased files is not guaranteed indefinitely.
8. Term and Termination
This License is perpetual provided the Licensed Entity continues to comply with this Agreement.
Violation of the prohibited uses described in Section 4 immediately terminates this License without refund, consistent with the refund policy described in the Designer Canvas Terms & Conditions.
9. Disclaimer of Warranty
The Licensed Materials are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
Designer Canvas does not warrant that the Licensed Materials will meet every project requirement or be free from errors.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Designer Canvas’s total liability arising from this License or the Licensed Materials shall not exceed the amount paid for the applicable license.
Designer Canvas shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the use of the Licensed Materials.
10. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable federal laws of Canada.
